Prospective Applicants : Application Procedure
 
Recommended application date: November 1
APPLYING FOR ADMISSION IN: Mid June of 2009.
Complete applications will be reviewed by the admissions committee as they are received. Early application submission is strongly encouraged.
NOTE: Applications will not be accepted after January 31, 2009.

 
  1.       The application material collection is self administered. You are responsible for collecting all the materials except the GRE scores and submitting all materials at the same time. A completed application includes: :
  1. The application (submitted online)
  2. The fee (mailed to address below)
  3. Official transcripts from each university or college attended. An official transcript is in a sealed envelope that you obtain from the university or college (mailed to address below)
  4. Three recommendations in sealed envelopes with the referees signature over the envelope seal. References should include a physical therapist familiar with the applicant's suitability for the profession, an undergraduate or graduate adviser, an instructor in a major field, or an employer (may be submitted online by referee or mailed to address below by the referee)
  5. Photograph (submitted online with application)
  6. Essays (submitted online with application)
  7. GRE scores (plan to take the GRE as soon as possible for your application to be considered in the first group on November 1.) Use institution code 5187. If you submit more than one set of GRE scores, we will consider your highest score in each section.
  8. Four prerequisite courses: physics, anatomy, statistics and physiology.

  2.       For early consideration, apply by November 1 for the class beginning in mid June of the following year. Applications received after November 1 will be considered on a first come-first served basis.
No applications will be accepted after January 31, 2009.

  3.       The application fee is $60.00 and must be included with your application.

  4.       All applicants must take the Graduate Record Examination (G.R.E.). Educational Testing Services (ETS) coordinates the administration of the GRE. For questions related to the time required for scores to reach EmoryUniversity, please contact:

If you take the paper and pencil test the scores take approximately six (6) weeks to reach Emory University. If you take the computerized test the scores take approximately three (3) weeks to reach Emory University. Please set your test date(s) to allow ample time for your scores to be received with your application.

The institution code that you need to use for the G.R.E. is 5187. Please note that we will not accept G.R.E. scores that were taken more than five (5) years prior to applying.


  5.       If you are reapplying to the program or have an application from a previous year, you must submit a new application. All of the items listed in number 1 above (a. through h.) as well as your G.R.E. scores must be resubmitted.

FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY TO ENSURE PROMPT CONSIDERATION OF YOUR APPLICATION. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS CAN NOT BE REVIEWED.
 
Length of Program      Nine semesters. If all requirements are met, the degree will be awarded in May of the graduating year.

 
Tuition      At the present time (2008-2009), the tuition is $9,328 per semester. Tuition is payable at the beginning of each semester. Please note that the University reserves the right to revise tuition and other charges when necessary. Beginning in 2005, additional costs for drug screens and/or criminal background checks may be necessary prior to beginning clinical affiliations. Click here for information.

Interview Schedule      Invitations for interviews will be sent to selected candidates after all application materials have been reviewed. Interviews will be held on selected dates in December 2008 and February 2009. We will begin to make decisions about acceptance after the initial interview date.
