Application Procedure

We are participating in the APTA sponsored application service called Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service (PTCAS). To apply, please visit www.PTCAS.org and follow all instructions. Contact information for PTCAS: ptcasinfo@ptcas.org and 617-612-2040.

For early consideration, apply with all supporting documents by November 1st for the class beginning in mid June, 2010. Applications received after November 1st will be considered on a first come-first served basis. Application deadline for the class beginning June, 2010 is February 1st, 2010. First round of interviews will be held in November, 2009.

Complete online application at www.ptcas.org and submit all supporting documents, which include transcripts, GRE scores, 3 letters of recommendation, PT experience, pre-requisite information and 3 essays.
Note: be sure to send your photo and the 2nd and 3rd essays directly to Emory DPT Admissions office.
Upon receipt of your application and supporting documents by the Emory DPT Admissions Office, you will receive an email confirmation with instructions on how to check application status in Online Pathway to University Students (OPUS).

It is the applicant’s responsibility to check application status in OPUS and ensure that application is complete with all supporting documents.
Applicants with complete application that meet our admission requirements are invited for interview. Allow 3-4 weeks after the completion of your application for admissions decision to be communicated to you.

 

In order to receive a faster admissions decision, a complete application must include the following:

  1. Application (submitted through ptcas)
  2. Official Transcripts from each university or college attended and indicated on application
  3. Three letters of recommendation (one must be from a Physical Therapist)
  4. Three essays (one submitted through ptcas and 2 others sent directly to us)
  5. GRE scores. Use institution code 5187. Contact information for Educational Testing Service (ETS): etsinfo@ets.org and 609-921-9000
  6. Five pre-requisite courses
  7. Hours of PT experience including the types of clinical settings under the direct observation of a Physical Therapist
  8. Photograph

Length of Program

Nine semesters. If all requirements are met, the degree will be awarded in May of the graduating year.

Tuition

At the present time (2009-2010), the tuition is $9,533 per semester. Tuition is payable at the beginning of each semester. Please note that the University reserves the right to revise tuition and other charges when necessary. Additional costs for drug screens and/or criminal background checks may be necessary prior to beginning clinical affiliations. Click here for information.

Interview Schedule

Invitations for interviews will be sent to selected candidates after all application materials have been reviewed. Interviews will be held on selected dates from November to March. We will begin to make decisions about acceptance after the initial interview date.
