Overview
After practicing for several years as a physical therapist, I received my masters from Boston University in health administration in 1981. Since that time I have continued to develop my skills and expertise in rehab and physical therapy management, consultation and leadership. I currently the Service Line Administrator Orthopedics and Rehabilitation with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Specific physical therapy programs I am responsible for include acute hospital PT at 3 hospitals, 28 bed inpatient pediatric rehab unit, 9 satellite clinics for children with special needs, and 8 sports medicine PT clinics, orthotics and prosthetics and a scoliosis screening program. My focus over the past couple years has been to enhance the level of evidence based practice, reporting of clinical outcomes, program development, and facilitating clinical research efforts.
In the areas of leadership, I currently serve as the physical therapy representative on the Georgia State Board of Workers Compensation, member of the Technical Advisory Council for the Georgia Department of Human Resources and member of the Physical Therapy Research and Education Foundation. Past leadership roles have included President of the Georgia Physical Therapy Association, President of the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy, Chair of the American Physical Therapy Association Reference Committee, and Chair of the Ethics and Standards of Practice Committee for the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy.
