Overview
Dr Sarah Blanton is Assistant Professor, Rehabilitation Medicine and Associate Director of Research Projects. Dr. Blanton currently is a project coordinator for the EXCITE national clinical trial and assistant project coordinator for the Northstar Neuroscience Everest clinical trail. She graduated from the University of Virginia in 1987 with a BA degree in biology, from Emory University in 1992 with her masters in physical therapy and received her clinical doctorate in physical therapy in 2003. She has a specialty certification in Neurology through the American Board of Physical Therapy. She spent nine years working as a staff physical therapist at the Emory Center for Rehabilitation Medicine, primarily in the inpatient neurology unit. She has also served as assistant project coordinator for the FICIT (Functional imagery and constraint induced therapy) and MICIT (Mental imagery and constraint induced therapy) studies, and a co-investigator of the Feasibility of a Web-based Depression Program for Caregivers of Stroke study. She is author of several peer-reviewed articles and co-author of two book chapters.
