Zoher Kapasi Receives Emory Williams Distinguished Teaching Award
Zoher Kapasi, PT, PhD, MBA, an Associate Professor with the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, was selected to receive the 2016-17 Emory Williams Distinguished Teaching Award by David S. Stephens, MD, Interim Dean, Emory University School of Medicine.
The Emory Williams Awards were originally established by Emory Williams, a former emeritus trustee and graduate of Emory College in 1972. These awards honor faculty members who: a) foster participation, inquiry and creative expression in the classroom, b) serve as a model for teaching and scholarship and c) serve as a mentor to students.
Dr. Kapasi also serves as the Director of the Division of Physical Therapy (DPT), as well as Chief of Outpatient Development within Rehab Medicine. He has been a member of the Emory faculty since joining the department in 1994 as an assistant professor before being promoted to associate professor in 2005. Before being named Director of DPT in 2011, he served as the associate director from 2005-10 and interim director in 2010-11.
